Content guidelines

1.Review honestly

A game's score is only worth something if the reviews are real.

• Review what you played. To review a game, it must be in your library as played.
• Don't coordinate mass reviews to raise or tank a score, and don't create accounts for it.
• If you worked on the game or got a free copy, say so in the review.

2.Mark spoilers

Mark a review as a spoiler when it reveals the story and use the spoiler block in guides. List and guide titles and descriptions must be spoiler free.

3.Respect people

Criticize the game, not the people who play it. Not allowed:

• Personal attacks, harassment, stalking or threats.
• Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
• Exposing other people's personal data.

4.No spam

• Ads, repeated links or the same text in many places.
• Selling accounts, items or services.
• Mass-generated content just to take up space.

5.Forbidden content

• Sexually explicit content.
• Graphic real-world violence or content that encourages harming someone.
• Anything illegal, including piracy and cheats that break the law.

6.Useful and truthful guides

Write in your own words and test what you teach. Don't copy guides from other sites without permission, credit the sources you used and fix wrong information when you learn about it.

7.Profile

Name, @handle, photo, bio and links follow the same rules. Don't pretend to be another person, a brand or the Playthrough team.

8.How to report

Use the Report button on reviews, lists, guides and profiles and choose the reason. The moderation team reviews every report, and the person reported doesn't know who reported them. You can follow the outcome in Settings, under Your reports.

9.What moderation can do

Depending on how serious it is and the account's history, moderation may hide content, clear the profile, warn the account by email or suspend it, for a period or indefinitely. Hidden content stays visible to whoever published it and can be restored if the decision is reviewed.
